Dear
Friends and Family of West End High
School,
As we all know,
West End High School
will be closing at the end of the 2008
school year and there
are many years of memories stored within the walls of this historic
school. The Alumni and friends
of
West End High School
wish to capture those
memories by hosting a
School Closing Ceremony for alumni’s of all classes, past and
present teachers, friends, and the
community of
West End.
During the ceremony, we
plan to have activities
for all ages. The main event will be the Alumni Basketball Game
that will feature past and present
women and men basketball players from
West
End
High School. As well as the basketball
game, half-time entertainment has been scheduled to
include performances
from past and present Cheerleaders, The Marching Band, Concert
Choir and a special tribute to the
teaching and administrative staff of
West
End.
This event
will be memorable to all that will be affected by the closing of one of
Birmingham’s very known and established High Schools. The tentative date
for this event will be June 7,
2008 at
West End High School’s
Gymnasium from 2pm – 6pm. We
really hope that you can
help and support us as we say good-bye to our past and hello to
the future. For all who wish to
participate as part of the
Cheerleading Squad,
Marching Band,
Concert Choir, Basketball Team, etc.,
please send response ASAP.
